Shawn Hanna (President of the College Men’s Club), Chris Bonn, David Lobe & Dave Germond (VP of the College Men’s Club)
This past Sunday evening The College Men’s Club of Westfield held their 2nd annual Texas Hold Em’ Tournament at The American Legion in Westfield where they raised over $12,000.00 to support their mission of providing college scholarships to deserving young men in our community. The winners were David Lobe in 1st place, Chris Bonn in 2nd place and Dave Germond in 3rd place.
The College Men’s Club of Westfield is an all-volunteer organization that was founded in 1922 by a group of college graduates who wanted to provide money for higher educational opportunities to deserving young men in the community.
All money raised by the Club goes to scholarships for the kids. The Club has helped many students with financial need, particularly those who might not otherwise be considered for assistance. Students who are struggling with life issues, or need to work after school to help support their families, gain special consideration.
The club looks closely at those who need the extra help, yet have a burning desire to attend college and succeed in life. The College Men’s Club would like to thank everyone who attended the event, our supporters at Shop Rite of Garwood and Publick House in Mountainside and our major donors for making this another successful fundraising effort.
